There Is Evil Inside
Moonlight bounces off the cold tile
So hollow and empty
Like the souls that dwell within the bodies that must walk along this frigid ground
Each one encompassed by something unseen
A heaviness that intensifies gravity
An extreme force resting on the shoulders of the wicked
Thrusting them down toward the inevitable
Callous and calculating in a past life
These skills no longer necessary
Haunted by the terror in innocent children’s eyes
Paths of destruction fueled by uncontrollable rage
Carnage plagues the diseased mind
Void of conscience
The vigilant sociopath follows dangerously close behind
Awaiting the precise moment to strike again
They’ve learned to hide it
They speak in peaceful tongues
Tell themselves that the vile thoughts have vanished
That the villainous culprit resides inside no more
But they will never escape
Doomed to spend eternity surrounded by steel and wire
Looking up at the blue sky longing to be free
Slowly deteriorating
And reminiscing about the agony they once caused
Mocked by the red exit sign at the end of the dark hall
Knowing full well their feet will never touch liberated earth again
