Then They Are Grown

When time comes to let your precious child go Will sorrow fill your heart for you love them so? Will there be a sense of pride at there accomplishment Will the emptiness fill you with discontent? Will you know you have done your best? Will understanding their life choices be your test? Will your expectation of them be too much? Will your need give them an unhealthy crutch Will you hold on when you know you should let go Will their need for you seem to slow? Will you usher them eagerly to the door? Will dependence hinder blessings they may have in store? Will strength come from holding resolve to not interfere? Will knowing loneliness bring many a tear? Will they need you still as they go on their way? Will time make the emptiness go away?
