The Years Last Chapter

In autumn when the leaves are gold, And summers sun is growing cold. The shadow of winter kisses the land, As frost is littered on the ground. The wind is viscous with its bite, As the stars above shiver in the night. The new day dawns ominous and grey, We know that winter is on it’s way. Empty branches on barren trees, Leaves all gone with autumn’s breeze. Yellow tinged clouds threaten down below, As the skies are bursting full of snow. Lace like flakes fall to the ground, Silently they make no sound. A pure white blanket fills the land, Gripped by winter’s mighty hand. ©.L.Kelly
