The Worthy Engineer

They stormed the enemies gate, over hill and ditch they went, Their valiant attacks made the enemy quake with fear, Nowt was said of how they got there with all their gear, No way could they have done it without the brave engineers, Under withering fire they built bridges and roads, So they could move fast, to win, with valiant cheer, But nowt was said of the Royal Engineer. © Dave Timperley August 2014

Some people never get the recognition and praise they deserve! It is sad. The glory goes to the soldiers...but you are right...the others need a piece of the glory as well, for they sacrificed for country. I've wanted to write to you for some time. You live in CYPRUS! :) Amazing! Lived there for 17 years myself. Have my nationality now. I've relocated to Lebanon, but I do speak Greek and still have family in Nicosia...I visit CY often. I LOVE IT. :)

Thanks for your comment Eileen. We have lived here in Cyprus for 7 years now. I consider it my home. Struggling with Greek , slowly but surely I will get there. God Bless. Dave.
