The Widow

She sits alone Though family around She sees without seeing, Hears not a sound.  Her darling has left To go to a higher plain She held his hand  Throughout the pain She knows that its cruel To want someone to return Not to the pain But to her heart she does yearn "Why did you leave me" In her anguish she cries, but His clock had run out Was his time to die.
