Alouette

The Alouette, created by Jan Turner, consists of two or more stanzas of 6 lines each, with the following set rules: Meter: 5, 5, 7, 5, 5, 7... Rhyme Scheme: a, a, b, c, c, b. The form name is a French word meaning 'skylark' or larks that fly high, the association to the lark's song being appropriate for the musical quality of this form.

Spring is all but gone, Summer sears the dawn. And diurnal creatures stir as the sun's first rays forecast brighter days filled with the light they prefer. Glistening dewdrops carpet fields and crops. And as a gold sphere appears igniting daylight, eagles prep for flight the moment morning mist clears. The whisper of leaves rustles through the trees. And as robin-egg-blue skies usher Summer in, yet to our chagrin Spring's forced to bid us goodbye. A magical time, soon summer temps climb. But after Autumn begins, the changing leaves start to fall heeding winter's call, as our tilted planet spins. (Alouette) 6/6/2016

Ah...the magic of fun filled summer days. Beach days here when tourists flock and locals know secluded uncrowded places to enjoy their leisure time. You wrote this lovely Alouette form with perfect meter Emile. A real joy to read. Thank you for the summer fun! #7 ; )
