The Weight of War
The Weight of War (Decreed)
The Heat
“oh my, oh my”. what’s up with me
….why do I feel so hot?
’Tis but the height of mid-winter
…..and surely summer not!
But ho’ awhile, I see no Sun
…..so what could be the cause?
I must be ill, bacterial plague,
….perhaps that be the source.
The Blast
Hey, what gives now? A mighty breeze
….upon the land befall.
And..what?!? With all my Sixteen Stones
….I’m dashed against a wall.
Well, what a gale, I have to say
….it takes my breath away.
But if it means my home to move
…I’ll other means convey!
The Radiation
No heat, no gale, aah, peace at last..
..but what is this I see?!
My skin is now as bleached as snow
..I know this just can’t be!!
Hey wait! I’m only twenty-two
….and yet I’m going bald!
I’ll venture out - go see the doc..
…Say! What an empty world!!!
