The Weathered Love

Every Poem I have written, every word I have spoken, it is never going to cover even a fraction of the love I have for you. Stunned into submission, I feel myself drown, my eyes closing, falling into a deathly sleep, I awaken next to you. Diving from the cloud tops I close my eyes as I plummet to the hard earth below, cradled by the wind that belongs to you, I am pushed, by the scales of resolve, into the endless forest that belongs to me. Slamming into the snow, shattering my body, I become part of the fallen ice. My blood rising with the rise of spring, into the skies that belong to you, we meet, holding hands, kissing lips, hugging embrace, and as you blow away I run with you, to the clouds again. We are one, if, for a moment, we are one, and I fall again, to the solid, rigid ground that I call my temporary home. Here I wait until I can rise again, “Sun” I cry, “pull me up once more, so I can be with her one more time, so I can hold her once more,” I yell and I feel the warmth of the blazing, radiant, evaporating sun, I feel myself rising again to her skies, but still as time passes I will fall to the ground or waters below. Until the day I can become the vapor that surrounds her, I will be the water rising and falling until I am with her once and for all.
