The Weary Man

Through somber days with sleepless night, Through howling winds with blistering bite I saw the weary man wandering by, a smile upon his face Through lighting crashes and thunderous rain, Through Winter's cold and Summer's pain I saw the weary man wandering by, a smile upon his face Through the densest forest and thickest thorn, With battered shoes and clothing torn I saw the weary man wandering by a smile upon his face Why do you smile. weary man? as you meander by, You travel through this arduous road, with a twinkle in your eye Your journey seems so daunting, the mountains you must climb But as you wander by, it seems you were smiling this whole time The weary man glanced up at me, just noticing I was there, His eyes danced cool with happiness, a warmth within his stare His smile seemed much brighter now, A rosiness in his cheek He gave a glowing affecting grin, as he slowly began to speak "It's Her Love that burns a flame, that forever keeps me warm" "It's Her Love that lights the path, and guides me through the storm" "It's Her Love that gently sings a song, for only me to hear" "It's Her Love that gives me solace, freeing me from fear" "It's Her Love within the Sunshine, her radiance sparks the dawn" "It's Her Love that springs eternal and is never truly gone" And so he wanders on... I saw the weary man wandering by, a smile upon his face
