The Ways I Leave
if i leave
without saying where
i’m going,
i’m leaving for me.
if i leave
and tell you why
i’m going,
i’m leaving for you.
if i say goodbye
and you can still feel my presence,
i’m not leaving,
just practicing how to miss you.
but if i say goodbye,
and can’t seem to leave,
i’m trying,
i just don’t want to.
i’m trying because
you need to practice how to miss me, too.
