The Warrior

The warrior stands there tall and brave, Their freedom is what they crave. No more shackles, no more lies, Free to wander beneath the skies. The white took his land and home Saying this land is not yours to roam. To a reservation they were taken, Their heritage gone but not forsaken. Losing his dignity, denied his right, All he could do was stand and fight. White mans law, white mans rule, Native children must go to school. Change your life,Change your ways, The white mans here and here he stays. Treaties made and treaties broken, Only lies to him were spoken. In his mind he was always free, To be what he wants to be. Beneath the skies he was free to roam, The open prairies would always be his home.
