The War Ravished City
The great city
The pride of the world
Lies in shame
All her beauty has been torn
The world watches her ruin
Her children has all been
killed
By the blood thirsty bullet
of the enemy
The little remaining remnant
Of her children
Walks round her fallen wall
Hungry and thirsty
All the tree are fallen down
And all her oceans and
streams
Dried up
The well of tears in their
eyes has dried up
And their mouth has left
wailing for their fallen
brothers and sisters
They look pitifully to the
world
Their young ones now
Beg for alms
Even the suckling joins to
beg
Oh! The once beautiful land
Has been made ugly by war.
