The Walls Are Grey and That's How They'Ll Stay
"The walls are grey and that's how they'll stay"
That's all he has to say
His eyes have darkened, his soul has aged
Being locked up so long in his concrete cage
His mind has found its own ground on which to live
Away from life, choosing not to live
The repentant man always on his knees
But repentant he ain't as he don't want to live
The only thing he sees in the dark of night
Is the little girls eyes full of fear and fright
As he mowed her down in his car that night
The photos the parents brought to the police one night
Of a beautiful little girl at a friends party earlier that night
A smile so bright and full of life
In an instant gone....because he drank that night
"The walls are grey and that's how they'll stay"
That's all he has to say.
