The Wall Around My Heart Crumbles

The wall around my heart Slowly began to crumble Like the Berlin Wall Of my ancestry. I kept my steady pace Upon the rusty leaf strewn dike Letting the scents of autumn Linger upon me. As the flooded cranberry fields Came into view Surrounding the out buildings Like a miniature lake, The canada geese glide swiftly Upon its mirror image. I began to love myself As the devine being I am, To open my heart To the love within me Surrounded by light, Autumn colours and scents, And the beauty of nature around me.
