The Voice
I heard a voice in the distance
Crying in despair
Looking around I saw no one
Although someone was surely there
As I walked closer the words were clear
With a tattered heart I began to weep
How can I help this broken soul?
A strong will I must keep
"I'm trapped inside these prison walls"
I heard the voice once say
"Please you've got to set me free
For me to live another day"
I turned around and to my surprise
A reflection I could see
It was then I realized
The voice I heard was me
