The Virgin Myth
Does Spring cease to look her best
if before you have seen her vivid skies?
Is the sun an unwelcome guest
for the countless times you watch it rise?
Does a kiss grow any less sweet
for the previous times of tasting there?
Are dreams any less complete
for the other souls who may also care?
Do ideals become less ideal
for the many minds who have formed their thrust?
Does steel become lesser steel
for the day it may suffer unto rust?
Do the stars shining up above
lose their wonder for their source is dead?
Is a love any less a love
when the virgin myth rears it's stupid head?
