The Violin
The Violin sat on the mantle
waiting to be played.
Remembering what it felt like
to be able to sing.
Yearning to be able to sing once more.
For its song is of pure beauty.
But alas, the violin sings no longer.
For how can a violin sing
without someone to play it.
So the violin sits, waiting
for anyone to play it
so it can sing once more.
