The View

Pj's of a small town. Low rent, low income, low self esteems. Beaten up cars, beaten down dreams. Shifty eyes being passed onto a new generation. Distrust, anger, violence... Flowing from windows where babies cry unattended, like sweat from a prize fighters pores. Little kids playing between parked cars. People chilling on stoops. Nods and hellos as neighbors come home from work.. Yells to the kids to look out for cars pulling in. This one's hungry, that one's thirsty. Someone's got a snack, someone's got a drink. Lost jobs but found loves. Bonds sometimes broken but more being made. Extended dysfunctional family one and all. No shame in a brother's game. Crazy wiggle when a sister giggles. Our life in our town. Wishing better for our kids. Better then we got it, had it, or will have it. It's just the daily grove in the View.
