The Ugly Americans

That's what we've become The Ugly Americans We allow our government to strip infants and children from their parents and put them into detention centers some never to see them again How low can we go? What happened to America the alleged bastion of freedom and liberty? It's a shame to see a country slide into decadence losing it's values and morals. It makes me ashamed to be an American. I never thought I would see that time, but all empires eventually have their demise.

Wow - tell them Frank! I have never heard of this ever before except during the hitler regime which i have spent hours reading - what a monster - when children and couples were all split up, an absolutely heartfelt write. Love it, Jennifer Christmas wishes to you and yours.

I share your feelings, Frank. The immigrants at the Mexican border were fleeing to escape tyranny and violence. They didn't have the time to go through all the legal channels, but I wouls welcome them with open arms. We're talking about humanity here. Although I will always love my country, I abhor the treatment some of these would-be immigrants have been dealt. Excellent message in a well-composed poem. Hard hitting! Just what we need, Frank. Thank you for sharing, Carolyn

The Rise and Fall... The ugliness of Trump and his jackboots bring shame to us all. As we gain money and status, we forget our humanity. It is late in the game and maybe we are lost.
