The Two Winding Roads

The Two Winding Roads (Alice Advincula) Sprawled before us in our life journey, are two winding roads towards eternity. One is smooth, brightly lit and broad, the other one narrow, gloomy and cold. A great multitude travel the easy road, dressed elegantly with reaches untold. In a hubbub of music and mindless laughter, they journey on and on to a place unknown. Worldly as they are intoxicated by joy, no time is wasted to seek material pleasure. They crave on and on for power and fame, till they’re slaves of sin, envy and discontent. Too late to realize the journey is over, that they have now reached the brink of disaster. Too late to fathom they have lost their souls, in exchange for pleasure and meaningless trifles. Take a look at the other journey, where few people tread along the narrow way. Battered and beaten, they go on and on, their clothes are tattered, worn out and torn. Suffering to them is just ephemeral, for they know exactly where they are bound. They’re just passers-by in this hostile world, they don’t need to amass treasures and gold. Eternal happiness is what they long for, so they are heading to their King and Savior. Patiently they wait for that glorious day, when paradise is reached at the end of journey. Lord, help me choose the right winding road, your eternal kingdom, allow me to behold. It may not be easy, Lord empower me to overcome obstacles that may come my way.
