The Twin Oak

There is a tree A large twin oak That’s watched the lives Of this farm's folk A double trunk Grows from the ground Becoming one huge Grand one found Within the field That saw the lives of Jimmy, San and Johnny thrive So many others Did it see Within the years This grand old tree And now beneath its glorious shade The shadows of the loved ones Fade, in and out of moonlit nights Gone but present in our sights 8/15/2021
