take your thoughts stuff them into a non thing the thoughts and the nothingness breathed in and out expelled to travel permeate fabrics cling to skin it could all be so wonderful but for the toxicity I'll take the option not to think not to breathe yet ticker taping across my mind is 'this is not a thing' you can't catch the travelling letters so like the damaging thoughts that sail through almost gliding not at all causing alarm until :thought: back to breathing it wasn't optional after all if I am not my thoughts don't control my breath what does compel me? draws to suspend disbelief coaxes into the ways of things drop it all let it fall to the ground listen for the crash of the real/reel or the silence of the false storm maybe forget these words see the pipe order one in a reality of the tangible it is the shinier option after all

Just love how your mind works DD...it breaks the normal boundaries and breathes a refreshing freedom into your poetry. Love how you take a theme or an idea and play with it. A pleasure to read my friend.

Thank you Paul, I remember observing as a child how so many people (in the library it was) just said the same things and a polite response was issued in the non conversation. It wasn't something I fancied doing for the rest of my life. It felt like a conscious decision to try not to state the obvious or expected, but maybe that's what I want myself to think haha thanks for your comment, always interesting to consider the workings of another's brain - it's the point of poetry in the first place I think

It really is difficult to look at the picture and try imagine it’s not a pipe, let alone write a super poem to reinforce the delusion, but another way would be to fill that pipe with some mind altering plant! and everything would fall into place quite naturally, you are very brave tackling these difficult subjective premises, ticker tape worthy, cheers David

Damn now you have me looking at poems and wondering if they are really poems or just a bunch of organised pixels, no it’s a pipe worthy of smoking lol!

Well it quite obviously isn't a pipe, it's a painting haha just like a thought isn't a reality and can just be a thought. Then perhaps nothing is real and no one should create their own torture. It's all simple when you realise it's not a pipe... Or perhaps it's all simple if you just buy in to the fact it is a pipe and don't question everything. Or maybe nothing is simple... :) thanks for your comment, I wrote this late in the night in the midst of deep pondering... Well 10 minutes of pondering.
