The Trapped Butterfly
Sitting in my room, watching a butterfly at my window.
It’s trapped inside and that it knows.
So it flutters around aimlessly tryna get out.
It vainly keeps on trying without a doubt.
But little does it know, it’s not really trapped.
For there are many ways out, if it had a map.
The air holes in wall or my open door.
But it stays at my window hoping for sure.
I watched this butterfly struggle up and down not giving up
Hoping somehow for the window to simply corrupt.
No one to help it, no one to guide
All alone in its own ride.
It will die for sure, shud it stay in the same place.
And it will slowly give up this dreadful race.
No food, or water, not even a friend,
For this butterfly, it now seemed like the end.
Isn’t this a lesson we can all learn.
We stay stuck in the same place thinking there’s no other turn.
We give up easily losing all hope.
Thinking of ending it with sum pills or a rope.
And little do we realize that this is not really the end.
There’s many ways out, on this we can depend.
To live your life the way you want to do.
To have hope again and start anew.
There are people called Angels sent from above.
To guide n protect us n give us love.
To give us direction n help us through it all.
And be there to pick us up again shud we fall…
So I opened my window and showed the butterfly out.
“I’m free at last” I could almost hear it shout.
Moving up and down ecstatically thanking me as it fluttered away.
Tomorrow it can start over again, for it lives to see another day.
