I get attached to my cars and then when we trade them in I get attached to the next one. Maybe because I drive so much that I form an attachment or maybe plain silly. love phyl

Did you really want to buy another sports car? It seems like you reluctantly bought this new sedan. Nevertheless, this is a good write.

Sports car, eh. This suggests fun memories, much more fun than a new - ugh - sedan. Behave yourself, now. Love, Dave

wow - I just read your comments and I am amazed at how different they are from my interpretation. I thought this was a metaphor on people and divorce, and sad.

susan, the cars represent "stages of life" and I was very sad to lose my carefree, happier, more healthy feeling days of my 40's when I went to the kia (hubbie didn't want another convertible) but I swear , when the Kia gives out, I will be looking for sports car again!!

Oh, man, the more tired I get, the more I dither! This is a cool shanzi! Like the use of the word unrenewed the most. Best wishes in the contest!

Ready for this? Ahem, I don't drive! Yuppers. 46 and no license. I will drive by the time I'm 50. I took lessons just as I got pregnant ...at 42. Standard car! AWK! But I get the two lives in this poem. Sometimes it feels like we live 5 lives, really, doesn't it? I don't see years as chapters, sometimes, but more like entirely different books. I'm about to head to bed. It's after 12:30. I hope to post a pic blog about a multicultural festival tomorrow. But worry I'm being a blog-hog! hugs. :-)

I have not driven a car for quite a few years. I used to have ared Ford Tempo. I never bought vainty plates or had a sports car. Hope you enjoy driving around in your new sedan. Where I live - NY's Lower East Side - a car is not a neccessity since you can take mass transit everywhere, I bet you must have a car where you live. Fun read! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

Driving down the coastal highway to breath the ocean air. Drove off the cliff and died. For what were meant to be glances, I mistook for stares.
