The Tightest Hold
This tight hold
Began when some small part of my semi-present brain said “Yes.”
Your fierce, tender, electrifying embrace is
Sometimes the cozy place I retreat to when the world jeers and
Sometimes a cold non-place I ignore
But always surrounding me.
You are always there.
In your death, you tied yourself to me,
And wherever my fragile fingers push or pull,
You are unmoveable.
