The Thing About Spring
The thing about Spring is the promise it brings
Of the new life and rebirth and blue skies that it sings
Of the birds and the bees and new leaves on the trees
Of the flowers and the hours of sunshine and of showers
The thing about Spring is the new hope that it brings
That every girl can be queen and every boy can be king
That the winter will splinter and that summer’s a comer
That days will get longer and that love will grow stronger
The thing about Spring is the assurance it brings
That new planted seeds bare new offerings
That the circle of life will keep circling
And that’s why I sing of the thing about Spring
