The Tale
You see me in yourself
As you stare into the unknown
As you pick that paintbrush up
Or when you dance among the stars
We are hidden among the world
The world of humans
Some humans are given strength
skills from the first breath
Yet some have to master skills
Some seek to survive to live
That is where my hidden race plays
We create the world around you
And you know not
We the Tale smile and laugh with you
We dance in your joy
We weep in your sorrow
You call our gifts to you talents
Yet you know not where they come from
Some humans believe that it was just so
Just natural for them to sing and have a voice
Yet you do not know, that inside you
Is hidden one of us
As long as he or she builds you up
Your voice will shine will be the very best
Yet if you fail, if you quit
So do we, we will encourage you
Silently in soft and hard ways
We give you warnings along the way
If you heed not those warnings
If you cherish not your talent, your gift from us
We do leave you to the world of humans
We mark your skin with symbols
Symbols only we can see
The symbol of music, art, or whatever it may be
The symbol of the gift you cared for not
You may one day be chosen by another Tale
Usually never again with the one you threw away
Yet rarely very rarely sometimes the determined
The strong, the witty Tale do give to you
A second chance to dance once again.
