The Swimming Pool

The scene is a bit too bright, and the Water is a bit too tart. Slightly acidic, But mostly enticing, it feels good to him. With measured step He walks up - jumps - And falls in. Plunging deeper he tries to see But the chlorine burns his eyes, A rhythmic exhale eases the pressure on his ears But he can’t breathe and is afraid his heart Will beat out of his chest. Acquiescing to his pain, he faintly hears a voice beckoning him towards the wall, Finally reaching the bottom he pushes off the floor, Frantically kicking towards the surface. Swallowing his first gulp of air, his back stings as the wind renders an aftershock of motion, But he happily pulls toward the ladder; Eager to climb up and plunge again.
