The Sunny Side

Most of us see what we want to see And hear what we want to hear Never wishing to complicate our lives Want happiness with very few tears The world is surely not a perfect place It has flaws we must overcome But always looking on the sunny side Helps us deal with them one by one Sure not an expert when it comes to love I only know what I've observed Over many years of experiencing life We usually get back what we serve So I'll try to sum it up in a nut shell Here's what I've discovered through life It takes a bunch of give and take But basically we're all much alike Most of us see what we want to see And hear what we want to hear So keep on looking on the sunny side Happiness is always near © Jack Ellison 2012

I agree with the message of this poem. It certainly is easier to face life but view the good side of it. Not ignoring the bad side, but choosing not to dwell on it. The flow of this poem strikes me as somewhat inferior to some of your other works but I still like it. Keep up the good work!
