The Summer We Smiled

Looking back from now I can see why we were happy Nesting in the radiant sun And allowing the folds of our Clothes to intertwine. Looking back from now I can hear the ecstasy Of our eager, hungry voices And the melody of Cicadas filling our hearts. Looking back from now I can feel the tickles Of the breeze in our hair And the soft caress of the Fluttering, pale petals. Looking back from now I can smell the newly opened Fragrance on my neck And the sweet, familiar Cologne on yours. Looking back from now I can taste the raw Anxiety smothered in glee And the lack of Judgement for our future. Looking back from now I can regret all of the Mistakes we'd made And yet it always goes back to The summer we smiled.
