The Street Child

THE STREET CHILD. Nzongi N.Mwero. Cell phone +254727254534. Why me Am like a doll? Why me not play a ball? Why me not receive a call? Why me if I become tall? Why me if I become sick and fall? Where is my mother? What happened to my father? Who is my brother? Who is going to bother? What wrong did I do to deserve treated like a dog, What can I do but beg and steal, Sometimes I cry otherwise I weep, And sometimes I try to forget it all, Please do not patronise me otherwise do not ignore me, Just think me as another human being. Am thinking to be great, Am thinking to be nice, Am thinking to aim higher, Yes I want to be what my parents want me to be, But how? What should I do? To go to school, To play on the streets, Or just sway to music in my mind. Problems – Problems- Problems, And I’m still young not even 10 years old, But wait I have get the answer, Let’s I try to shape my life for a better future – Yes –Yes-Yes.
