The Storm

Bang went the thunder, lightning flashed rain pounding hard, surf hitting the sand with a crash These are the sounds that I hear Waking me up as dawn draws near Wondering what today will bring Not sure if I’ll even hear the birds sing As I sit and wait for the coffee to brew Thinking of all the things I should do Sitting here listening to the sounds Listening to Mother Nature as she abounds Her noise is loud her flashes are bright But here I sit with my coffee all wrapped up tight I think Mother Nature has this day planned She’s letting us all know life is grand Don’t take anything for granted, you must know And keep your eyes open for the next rainbow. …………..by Barbara Poor
