The Stars Series: Black Holes

The Star Series: Black Holes In the night sky the stars pierce through vast darkness But there is a darkness darker then even we can see Of course I am talking of black holes We know they exist because of the effects they cause They give out no light of their own They warp light that surrounds them They suck in and devour any hapless matter They sag the very fabric of the cosmos They take space-time and curve it to the infinite Any matter that is unfortunate to get to close Enters the event horizon a point between existing and nothingness The poor matter can see no light Time drags almost to infinity But the matter does pass through this horizon eventually To be crushed by the dark heavy point of singularity at the center Is the black hole evil No they just know They are just doing what black holes do
