The Stars Aren'T Out Tonight

The stars aren't out tonight And I can't see the light in your eyes The new moon makes the night too dark It's getting harder and harder to find my way The light fades to even deeper shades of gray Lips grow colder and breathing gets slower I can't seem to bring you back to life Please don't leave me. I'm not strong enough The pieces you held are still too fragile Falling to the floor, glistening like new born stars We share the last breath and my eyes shut tight A single tear rolls down your cheek The last time I call you mine The last time you call me baby The black attire goes with the parents who bury their children Red rose falling against the mourning skies This is the end of a love story that never was
