The Stars Are Shining
The clouds that covered up my world
Have rolled away, the stars are shining through.
Please tell me you are home to stay.
The starless nights are dreary without you.
The stars don’t think it worth their while
To shine if you’re not here to see their light.
So for stars’ sake and for mine too,
Please promise you’ll be with us every night.
The sky is full of stars tonight,
Much brighter than they’ve been for far too long.
My love is home again with me,
And everything is right. Life is a song.
