The Song

You sit down to write the perfect song To the tune that is lodged in your head You just need the right words to go along But most every thing has already been said You could write about unrelenting love Or a love that's no longer there To tell the truth hasn't there been more than enough And does true love really care The lyrics have to be more than can be seen Words that envelop all space and time So your search dives deeper into the abyss Trying to capture the perfect line It doesn't have to be a song you can dance to But one that still moves the heart The rhythm of language will replace the hearts beat That is at this moment where you find you are You decide to walk down the road of life a little further Hoping inspirational words fill your head soon Knowing full well this song will explain what all life is for Until then you'll continue whistling the tune...

Hi Mike, I can so identify. These days I also end up whistling a tune in tune with my footfall as I walk. Im so afraid that some steals it and I hear it on the radio. -paranoia!.you ought to record it and post it on Soup for us all to hear. Nicely written

Yes, sometimes we cannot get the right words and the right rhythm, but along the way we can find an inspiration from everyone. Great writings. God bless.

I like this one Mike. Something about the ending, and whistling the tune gave me the vision and the hearing of it too, all at once. Another favorite. Thanks for sharing :)
