The Soldier

UNSUPPORTED CODE Clutching at the strands of your dreams, Never letting them go, you wrap them tightly around your waist, As you wake up to the real world. Lying in the dirt you roll over in the dawn, curl up into a ball and, Wait for the fire to consume you. As the shuddering of the earth, slowly thunders down upon you. Dust, dirt and screaming pain surrounds you. Wait fir that moment of courage to raise you up from the dark trenches. With lost dreams left behind you, An explosion rips the air and Sends the last embers of you into the raging African light.
