The Soldier

The world is crazy outside Buildings burning People screaming People bleeding She hears the gunshots outside her house Sirens loudly down the streets She’s sitting in the corner Rocking back and forth In all this chaos she watches her family Everything around her She goes outside and boom! The gunshot goes through her arm She wakes up hours later looking at a soldier She wishes she would have died Through all this chaos She’s wondering what is doing there She smiles at the soldier and says, “I should be dead” The soldier says, “No, you should not" She says back “Why did you rescue me?” He replies, “Because it’s my job” She drifts back to sleep in his arms Next time she wakes up she’s in a hospital All she remembers is the guy saving her from all the chaos
