The Soaring Poet 9/10/2023 Oh, how I admire so, any poet willing to be real!. This is my personal, on-going, endless, longing. A poet soul, unafraid to swim against poetic current, To stop hiding behind a costume of image-filled words. And fly with impunity not desirous of any popularity. A poet, resembling the eagle, who creates his own high. Far above the poet crowd, fully realizing that A poet’s heart, seeks glimmering glory for one and all!

Such a great write...full of freedom from all corners. I keep going back to your sensational last line that is not in my conscience, but maybe it should be more often.

Close your eyes, see nothing, write about it.....hey!!! There's a contest in that. Pangie, I did a couple of poetry workshops entitled "DON'T FIGHT IT, WRITE IT!" one of the attendees was an "older" woman who stated "I write and say what I want!! I'm '93 freakin' years old!!"

Thank you, Christina. What an exceptional comment! Know that I realize it takes an exceptionally sensitive poetess, like you to understand what looks like a simple poem. I do not mean that in any arrogant way. I am not a populist poet. I do not write to please, no~that is a game, where you can lose your soul. Kindred souls will read you. Poetry should not be tied to pleasing others. Contests are ok but writing them should make one strive for originality.

Greetings from the USA on the day we remember that thousands of Americans who perished on 9/11 .Twenty-two years ago,….in addition, 345 other first responders have died, from cleanup from cancer, bless all!. I am with you on all points. Originality is needed..The internet is filled with writing prompts.. One does not need a contest for an idea! That’s my opinion, but then, I am nota a follower.
