The Singing Elf
I am an elf all alone in the dark
And I need to go home, for I fear,
Christmas might prove to be stark
Imagine no presents this year.
For I have the list that Santa will need
If dreams are not to be broken,
And so, I must sing and to you I must plead
Lest this night might forever be spoken.
Please help me, please help me, wherever you be
Help me get back, please I pray.
Please help me tonight then maybe I’ll be
Back home without further delay.
For I am so lost and yearning for home
To see Rudolf, Prancer and Dancer.
Through these snowy streets I continue to roam
Until somehow, I might find the answer.
They left me alone, all out in the cold
Thinking surely, I’d mounted the sleigh.
I’m hoping tonight that events will unfold,
Maybe Santa is passing this way.
Please help me, please help me, wherever you be
Help me get back, please I pray.
Please help me tonight then maybe I’ll be
Back home without further delay.
I need a Samaritan on this Christmas Eve
A pure soul who is wholesome and good.
Someone who in Santa they truly believe
That my quest won’t be misunderstood.
Please think on your children asleep in their bed
Sworn allegiance to Santa this day.
If presents are missing I fear and dread
Their belief in Santa will stray.
Please help me, please help me, a plea from the heart
Please help me accomplish my goal.
Please help me, you kindred folk, help me depart
To join Santa today at the Pole!
