Bathed was the Tower's top in blue, The base boasted of yellow hue, ‘As mark of our support’, But all this show fell short, For, what's needed was not in view. ________________________________ Happenings | 08.02.2023 | war Poet’s note: The Eiffel Tower was lit in the colours of Ukraine’s flag of blue and yellow on 23 Feb 2023 in a mark of support to the bleeding nation, on the eve of first anniversary of invasion. ‘Glory to Ukraine’, tweeted the Paris Mayor. What glory, what support, wonder many, when all of the West, and NATO, are fighting a proxy war at the cost of the suffering victim of invasion, so too wonders this tongue-in-cheek limerick.
