The Safest Place In All the Earth - Psalm 56: 4
This world is so full of insecurity
so many living in threats and fear
but there's one who's so much greater
who'll protect and wipe away every tear
God is the one we can truly trust
put all our hopes in the eternal one
for His promises are sure and true
into His arms we can safely run
If we would really believe this
what have we to make us afraid
our faith needs be fully exercised
so to God our faith must be repaid
Open God's word read it through
see His great majesty to praise
this is God who loves us so true
sing aloud your voices to raise
The safest place in all the earth
is always next to our Lord so near
what indeed can flesh do to us?
God's at our side so ever dear
('In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?')
Psalm 56 v. 4 (ESV)
