The Sadness of Grief's Death
The Sadness of Grief’s Death
tears,
wretchedness of an all consuming sadness,
emotional cannibalism devouring the host
draining the will to live, to breathe,
crushing the reality of memory’s dust.
grief,
crowded desolation of an empty room
hints, contours, shaping vacant chairs,
aromatic kisses wafting on the air
shrieks of melancholy’s mournfulness – unheard.
death,
stalker of the living’s life
greedy to take that which he never felt
denying those who come to know his need
for death is not the worst thing to happen -
to the grieving it is just the last.
