The Rose
This rose of red I now give to you dear
A delicate offering to your heart
Covered in morning dew, petals will revere
Placed between your hands to keep and not part
My passion burns deep red as this flower
And leaves a fragrant scent where your soul lives
To inhale, refresh with its sweet power
Asking only to hold this love that gives
This precious memory will stay through time
In quiet moments from reflection's well
To know love from a lonely poet's rhyme
To have never spoken the words, farewell
Keep it well dear, for it mirrors my heart
This rose I give, so we will never part
