The Robin

I rose this morning to the rays of the sun Slowly i walked;i did not run. As i pushed the patio door ajar There was a Robin;not too far. It's then that i heard its melancholy trill; This my heart with joy did fill. Smiling, flicking its nimble tail, Over the wet and glistening shale. Like autumn leads to winter, And day follows night- It is always in site; So plumed and so bright!
