The Road I Travel

The Road I Travel The road I walk, I walk alone. Only my shadow, Hears my cries. My heart is empty, Empty as the road I walk. My blood pumps cold, As my heart becomes heavy. I search my soul, Searching for some amount of faith. People ask me how I feel, I tell my truth as it is real. Naked as though, I had no clothes. Unseen as though, I did not exist, Unheard as though, I had no voice. Abandoned as though, I was not wanted. Numb as though, I had no emotions. This is the road I walk, The only road I’ve ever traveled.

You have described your feelings very well with your wording. Not bad for a first poem.

This was a not so trite and should have been read. I felt your isolated loneliness. I am honored to be the first, empathetic soul to read this poem!
