The Road I Take
The Road I Take
Many roads there lie ahead
I wonder which to take
I glance down each and wonder
What difference it would make?
The signs I see upon the post
Are there for me to read
But don’t answer all my questions
Or satisfy my need.
I’m looking for a clue here
And really not quite sure
What happens if I go there
Will I be secure?
I know not what will happen
If I take road one or two
I stand here somewhat puzzled
And know not what to do.
The first looks kind of rugged
A challenge there for sure
And if I were to try it
Don’t know if I’ll endure.
The second has a hill so steep
Don’t know if I could climb
And if I even tried
It would take some time.
Another has a forest
Right there along its’ side
I fear that man or animal
Could choose that place to hide.
As I stand here somewhat puzzled
With these many roads ahead
Wondering which to travel
Where to start my tread.
I see the sun shine through the clouds
And suddenly I know
It’s how I travel on that road
And not on which I go.
