The Rising of Poseidon
The churning waves peaked to reach the heavens
As within the depths, the ascent of a god
Stirred the calmness into a memory.
Poseidon emerging from the depths with vigor
Attempted to challenge all who sailed
Upon the bounty of his seas.
With enough energy to sink a thousand vessels
He arose from the depths and claimed
Innocents as his prize.
Upon success, he smiled and retreated to the depths,
To his home within the calmness of the sea
To wait, yet, for another.
