Thank you Paul. I am intrigued by the varied response to this piece; seeing the tracks was the opposite of sad for me, thrilled that not only do I have rabbits living on my street, but raptors too, nature thriving despite the city. :) xomo!

I'm pretty sure it was an owl, it was just up the street from me- not prime hawk hunting- accepiters aside, lots of Cooper's Hawks and Falcons around. Thank you Jeff!
Date: 3/22/2019 9:36:00 AM
...and the hawk leaves not footprints....very nicely done Mo

Oooh! An enviable collection! ;) Peeked out my front door today in time to see a female Cooper's Hawk in a sneak attack. I had my Merlin and Peregrine feather collection, but having pet birds I don't bring any home anymore. Thank you Vickie! xomo

Poor bunnies, when I used to go out to work at 04.00 Id see them at the side if the road and as I passed they'd run out in front of my car, must have been my headlights'.

Intricate ideas here. I can see the wing imprints...wow! Perhaps the wounded flies with its newfound wings. That saga scripted in relief is the part that gets my attention.

Thank you Kim. I have been twice blessed to come across owl prints in the snow, me being the kind of birder that relishes finding pigeon wings... signs of happy hawks ;) ...been waiting years for this poem. xomo!

I'm not a hunter, so this seems sad to me. Some don't care about the life of the wild I suppose, or just think of it as sport. I'm not real brilliant, so I may be missing the point. Regardless, it brings emotion from me, so I thank you for that. Well done my friend and good luck in the contest!.......80)

I'm no hunter, but I love raptors. Sad if you love rabbits. ;) I love all nature being natural. I saw these tracks in the snow a couple years ago, the story of an owl hunting rabbits in my neighbourhood, Thank you my friend! xomo
