The Relationship

I saw you last night, in seraphic sleep; A tremor in your lips, and a flicker Of an eye lid for each secret you keep. I shivered under your slow, slight, breathing. I stood over your pallid face, seething; Adrenaline pulsing, heart beats quicker, And with each thought my stomach grew sicker; Thoughts to end all the promises I keep. But, Love's bitter resides like vinegar; Unable to leave, I crumble; a heap Of sobbing as though a baby teething. And each tear should make my leaving slicker; As though to exit in flourish and sweep. But, I am bound to you; ghostly, asleep.
